The Children’s Plan
Aspect’s 2008 annual conference takes place on August 29 and 30 at the The Royal York Hotel, York The conference will focus on the new context – created by the Children’s Plan – for professionals working across the whole field of children’s services. Aspect’s 2008 annual conference brings together experts, leaders in politics and the professions, and practitioners each able to make a distinctive contribution to the debate around the new context for children’s services.
Seminars
More than a dozen seminars will cover the key issues faced by professionals. Commencing with a six sessions asking how will the Children’s Plan make it brighter for Early Years children, a focus on Pupils as Partners, on secondary pupils 11-19, on Looked after Children and Retirement information.
A further session will examine how is it brighter for professionals in the field with a focus on the relationship between education and children’s health, the changing context of social care, issues facing independent consultants and mentors and the new industrial relations environment.
In a new feature Aspect’s deputy general secretary Nelly Takla-Wright will lead a seminar on retirement issues.
