Am I eligible to join?
Membership is open to any professional working in educational improvement and children's services.
Members are based in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Some members work abroad, and the Association welcomes applications from UK-based educational improvement and children’s services professionals.
Members are employed by local authorities, national or voluntary agencies, charities or private sector organisations, or act as independent educational consultants or inspectors.
Some examples of current members' job titles include: directors of children’s services, local authority advisers, school improvement officers, special educational needs advisers, educational inspectors, Key Stage strategy managers, literacy consultants, link advisers, advisory teachers, independent consultants working in education and children’s services, parent partnership officers, and coordinators of governor services.
There are three categories of membership:
- full – for professionals working in educational improvement and children’s services
- part-time – for members of the Association who work for half, or less than half, of the full-time working hours normally applicable to their post
- life – for retired members of the Association. To qualify for life membership you must have been a full member of the Association for over a year.
