The Association was officially registered as a trades union in 1977, and abides by trades union legislation.
The Association is affiliated to the Trades Union Congress (TUC), which provides a regular and comprehensive information service, conferences and training to Aspect. The Association is unaffiliated to any political party, and maintains a non-party political fund to influence decision-making on national policies which are relevant to members’ interests.
