Equalities and diversity

Building and embedding a truly equalities-aware, diverse and inclusive environment throughout children’s services is central to Aspect’s work, values and mission.

All of our members have the right to be treated with respect, fairness and dignity, to have access to all the facilities and opportunities they need to do their job fully and effectively, and to determine their own career path.

Each of us in turn has a responsibility to our colleagues to ensure our workplaces are genuinely open and inclusive, to challenge discrimination, and uphold the values of diversity and equality. It is also essential we as an association reach out to potential members from every background, and truly ourselves represent the diversity and wealth of experience shared among those in the children’s workforce.

Equalities survey

Aspect is currently running an equalities survey to examine the views of those across the children’s workforce on equality issues, and to identify key themes and priorities for future work. To take part in the survey click here. The survey can be completed anytime between now and 4pm on Friday 14 November.

Equalities networks

We are also in the process of establishing Equalities Networks which any member is welcome to join.
