Redundancy & Restructure

These are turbulent times with massive cuts in spending across local government threatening services, jobs and pay terms and conditions.

Aspect has produced a short guide for members and local representatives on responding to redundancies and restructuring in local government, as well as a FAQ dealing with issues related to redundancy and restructuring.

It is especially important that Aspect representatives locally (supported by regional officials) engage with the consultation process.

If a redundancy is announced in your local authority, please ensure your regional official knows about it. You can contact them via info@aspect.org.uk or by calling 01226 383428.

Aspect Scotland

Aspect – in consultation with its Scottish members and with the Association of Educational Development and Improvement Professionals in Scotland (AEDIPS) – has developed a set of standards for educational development and improvement professionals in Scotland.

Aspect's Scotland Council Member, Tommy Doherty, said "These standards are designed to reflect the current and changing roles and responsibilities of those working in educational development and improvement."

"The standards are supported by guidance notes. Six dimensions are identified which reflect the working practices of educational improvement professionals."
